Hello all! This is my first post, but have been a long time reader of all your knowledge. I bought my first farm 2 years ago and have been cash renting it to a farmer who has no-tilled soybeans both years.
I am wanting to convert this back to pasture in the next few years but want to plan ahead in order to do it with the best results. Located in Northwest Missouri.
1. In your experience, what is best time of year to seed new pasture in my area
2. what method of seeding would you recommend, broadcast/drill etc
3. what grasses/seed mix should I consider
I will soil test and amend as needed before I move forward with any of these. Any other things to consider or be aware of?

Thanks in advance

Where you are, for a 'base' pasture, I'd recommend early fall planting - by no-till drill - of cool season grasses - and I'd do a mix of novel-endophyte tall fescues and Persist orchardgrass, then overseed a mix of timothy, red clover, and Ladino clover in February.
