The hummingbird's are starting to gather for migration this is two to three week's earlier.
There are currently 100's here it will move to the thousand's and then one night they are gone.
I will try and get pic's as they gather up this is how it start's they share the feeder's.

That's cool. We have a resident population of about 7-10 year round. They are cool to watch especially when they get to fighting

When they get ready to migrate all fighting stop's and they share I have seen as many as three drinking from the same hole in the feeder at a time.
 
You had me praying for you till I read your post. That wait between the time I clicked the mouse, till the topic popped up seemed much longer than usual. Last time I heard anything about stage #1, 2,3 etc wasn't good.

I hope you are able to get some more pics. The most I have seen at any one time was 4 at 2 different feeders in the yard. I can't imagine dozens of them or evn hundreds! That's pretty neat!

Good pics! We usually have a lot but this year they have been few and far between, with the wasps getting more syrup than the birds.

BTW CB--you should be seeing some rain--a big Tstorm just missed us and looks to be on a fast track to the East of me.

I hope that you entered the photo contest. I like the second pic alot.
 
This is how they start sharing. When they really get her I will try and get pic's as there will be a hundred or more around each feeder. Dang little thing's aren't easy to photogragh, one move and they all shoot off. Think you got them in a pic and they move by the time you click the shutter.

Yes they are headed to Mexico and the Yucitan.
It is like watching NatGeo from the front porch the trees are working alive with them.
We are currently going through over a gallon a day of sugar water when they all get here it will be over two.

Wife just mixes 1 cup of sugar to 3 cup's of water

We run about 1 to 4 and no food coloring. The hummers will find it no matter what color it is
