We have a couple hundred 3/4" impact sprinklers, Mostly Rainbird 30B, Nelson F33, and Buckner 180 or 805's, and the seals are pretty much done for... Now 15 years ago when we bought the rebuild kits they were about 1.40 for the set of seals, in bulk, but now our local irrigation supplier wants to sell us every seal individually, for a total cost of nearly $5 / sprinkler, which is just nucking futs... Does anyone else have a source for bulk rebuild kits for these (they're all interchangeable between brands really, though we like the Nelson style best)
Right now they're telling us that the plastic sprinklers are the way to go, because they're cheaper ($15 bucks vs 20 for brass), but in 5 years the cows will have broken them off probably, and they'll be wanting 20 bucks for the plastic ones. How dare these companies have a "Service" department when they pretty much tell you to shove your sprinklers where the sun don't shine and buy new ones....
