Would someone please tell the person upstairs it is now spring??? I'm getting sick of rain that's nearly slush and icy winds! I'm sure a lot of you are in the same boat. My friend said he woke up to 5" of snow this morning.. it was gone by afternoon but still!

Blew the lane out yesterday - cleaned the yard with the skidsteer.

I have no more room for snow - banks around the yard are now over 10 feet high. I am now decreasing the size of the yard and the tractor trailer coming to pick up lambs will have to back in as there is not enough room to turn around.

Looks like it will still be bad when we start calving in about 5 weeks. I thought I was being so smart pushing the date back - should have been smarter and pushed it back more.

The snow in the back yard is about three feet deep on the flat.

If you get a direct line to either God or to Mother nature would you please tell them I am also sick of this - minus 13F this morning on a clear calm morning at 0530. I am tired of hauling wood to the house for heat as well.

Should have stayed on Vanocouver island when i was there in the early 80's.

Wow, that is some really miserable stuff you have! Should have come to the BC interior... Here I am complaining about a chilly wind at +5C
 
I could go for some spring weather right now. Instead we went pretty much from fall straight in to summer. "Winter" this year was a dry two week long freeze event that just about wiped out my citrus year. It's bone dry and our rain season is getting short. We're weaning calves two months early in desperation to save what grass we've got. Sunny and 84 today...

I feel for you but you sure as hell(!) would not want my hay bill either - we are two and a half more months from grass here at this rate - been a long winter with snow coming and staying in early November and I figure to be short at least 100 - 140 more round bales if this keeps going - we are down to our last 90 wrapped bales, only 60 or so 8 foot big squares of dry hay left and I fed the last of the round bales out this weekend past. Even burned through all of the old "extra" stock we had from a few years ago.

Spring cannot come soon enough for me. Even a few blades of old brown grass and everything is going out the gate - and our hay is all over 40 - 45 bucks a bale - picked up at the owners gate. Going to be an expensive winter.
