1997. In a set of happenings, the Ohio River floods and causes the "Thunder Over Louisville" fireworks show to be re-scheduled a week later.
Now, "thunder" is in conflict with a Bruce Springsteen concert. Thunder is a big deal in Louisville, much bigger than some guy from New Jersey. So I says to my girl Kat (a W.Ky. girl much like Chevy), let us go to the Springsteen show. We'll buy scalped tickets and make out like bandits. Kat was down with that.
From a sad eyed scalper on the side of the road we got really good tickets. Like, we're in the first balcony and the stage is 30 yards away. The arena is half full, but like a pro the boss put on as good a rock and roll show as I have ever seen. I think Eric Church must have been there that night watching us.
