Spring Green Cattle Pics

I was out walking the fence. The air was so warm and the grass was starting to get green. I felt compelled to take some pics of some young stuff to share with all of ya'll up in the "cold" states :lol:

I love your grass. Our clovers starting to come up really well now. The lazy cows actually left the hay ring to graze. It's amazing :P

Thank you. Pretty girls. It's good to see some green pastures. We walked through some of ours yesterday and there's not much green there yet. There's quite a bit of moisture in the ground. I guess the ground just hasn't warmed up enough for the grass to take off. I was disappointed. I though the native grasses might be greening up, but not yet. The cows look bad. That sorry hay that got them through the winter just isn't what they're wanting to eat and they're starting to complain.

We just dropped our first calf today - bull calf born in 18 inches of snow - deep in a cedar bush.

Dried off and sucking.

Temps running about 10 - 15 degrees F and a slight bit of snow falling.

Mom and baby - bedded in the bush tonight - not my cup of tea but they are doing fine.

Thanks all. These are some of my favorite heifers that are up and coming. It looks like, with the green up, I may wind up the season with hay left over....two years in a row!
