When those down south are cooking we will be calving in mud for a bit. A foot of snow last week delayed some dry ground for a bit. We were very glad for the moisture, by tomorrow we should be back to the point we were snow wise 10 days ago. Heifers are due in 2 days and cows in 12. Only one of our own heifers has been early. Feeding lots so there is something to bed in. Calf is from a bought surprise me heifer. The newborn is from a longhorn cow bought last fall.IMG_4557.jpeg

Those cattle pictured look full as ticks. Been delaying turning out for the grass to toughen a little and get some value. We are getting some good sunshine so this week they will be going to some new grass.
