Spent Brewers Grain?

How does spent brewers grain do for fattening? Is it enough by itself? We are giving grass hay and were giving 1/8 ladies bale of alfalfa a day to 2 cows. We have a 22 month old steer and a 10 month old steer. Local brew pub sends us home with a pickup load of spent grain every week. We freeze it into big tubs and have been giving them the frozen blocks to chew. By the end of the week they are just finishing the last batch and are ready for more. Will they taste good or do they need other things? Won't be butchering the baby until at least Fall.. we have good grass here.

Looks to be about the same as ethanol by-products.
