The sale book is online for the Southeast Angus Classic. This sale is a good one, the guidelines to consign a lot to this sale are pretty darn strict. In order to consign a cow to the sale she has to be out of an AI sire their dam must be AI sired and if they have a calf on their side it must be AI sired. If the cow is bred back she must have been bred at least once to an AI bull. In addition all animals must be AM, NH and CA tested free or from non-carrier ancestry. I honestly didn't realize how difficult the selection criteria was until we were invited to consign to this sale. We don't AI our entire herd each year, we use our own bulls on a large % of our herd so it sure makes it interesting when the time comes to select for this sale.

The past two days were prime examples of why I love the cattle business. We hauled our consignments to the Southeast Angus Classic sale in Opelika Alabama. We had the opportunity to visit with other consignors, look at some beautiful cattle and meet more wonderful cattle people. Everyone jumps in and works together to put on a wonderful event. There are way too many people to thank to start calling out names because I know I would miss someone but THANK YOU for all you did to make this sale a success. Thanks to everyone who came out and purchased cattle today. For us at Gizmo Angus we are humbled by the trust you put in our genetics and I just don’t have words to express how much that trust means to us.
