Today one of the local radio stations played "Frosty the snowman" sung by Jimmy Durante. That brought back some old memorys. Was kind of surprised it didn;t end with "Good night Mrs. Calabash wherever you are"

Lots of theory but no one has ever come up with an acutal meaning aand he died without disclosing it.
I tend to like music that is off the beaten path, his version of Spetember Song is still my favorite

I have only heard that a couple of times on the radio. I have it sung by Ed Ames but I enjoyed the Jimmie version I heard very much. I like that song.

Yea, I like Louis Armstrong as well. "Hello Dolly" is pretty close to the top from Satchmo. I haven't heard or thought anything about Jimmy Durante in years until a few days ago I saw a brief clip of him singing a Christmas song.

I enjoy Gene Autry's Christmas songs too. Our radio station has been playing many of the Christmas oldies thank goodness. Some of the newer Christmas songs... well they don't have the stuff to be memorable.
