Today one of the local radio stations played "Frosty the snowman" sung by Jimmy Durante. That brought back some old memorys. Was kind of surprised it didn;t end with "Good night Mrs. Calabash wherever you are"
That was a good line. Wonder what he was meaning back then. A lost love?dun":250v68jo said:Today one of the local radio stations played "Frosty the snowman" sung by Jimmy Durante. Lots of theory but no one has ever come up with an acutal meaning aand he died without disclosing it.inyati13":z4lu73qa said:That was a good line. Wonder what he was meaning back then. I have only heard that a couple of times on the radio. I have it sung by Ed Ames but I enjoyed the Jimmie version I heard very much. I like that song.dun":2h1lms7o said:Lots of theory but no one has ever come up with an acutal meaning aand he died without disclosing it.inyati13":2h1lms7o said:That was a good line. I tend to like music that is off the beaten path, his version of Spetember Song is still my favorite
Maybe it's gravelly sounding voices but I also like a lot of the vocals by Satchmo. Particularly this one:inyati13":2rt5xe94 said:I have only heard that a couple of times on the radio. I have it sung by Ed Ames but I enjoyed the Jimmie version I heard very much. I like that song.
