Holy cow(pun intended) its hot and muggy. I've been on the tractor all day. Moving dirt 200 ft from where it was dug out for the septic drain field, to use it to cap a 36" culvert we set in her driveway. All this with a 1 yd bucket and not 4wd, so sometimes I don't even get a full bucket. one turf tire and one bald ag tire on the rears. Good news is her mobile is in place and set, septic will be done next week, well done thursday. Just waiting on inspections and power company to set poles so we can drop her service and wire it up. Then we can seed the cleared areas, finish clearing and seed the rest for the cows. I should told her to wait til temps topped out in the 60's. I think its time for a bigger smoker and more beer

Amen on the smoker and beer...right at 100 here today and humid. Trimmed sometrees early this morning, showered and haven't been back out since.

93f and 85% humidity most of the day. Another 8 hrs on the tractor today cutting her main driveway, setting the culvert and capping it. Yee haw. I'm officially done for today.

Its not just the heat, its the humidity. I grew up in phoenix and was there for 18yrs..that's hot. Here, 92 and 80-100 humidity is just as bad as that dry oven baking heat. I tell people stick yer head in an oven and stick it in a sauna..which would you rather be in. To me they're both bad

I took my boys to a swimming party today .all the grown-ups were standing under a tree with 20 mph wind . complaining about how hot it was and pouring sweat. I just laughed . I guess I'm used to it . I work outside pouring concrete so it doesn't bother me until it gets around 100 .

Yup. We been doing t-ball and its rediculous to hear some of the parents and kids. One said "I feel like I'm burning!" My boy was the only one fielding balls by the end for the others hitting from the shade.

I work outside all day everyday also. But its been hotter than normal here lately and I just flat out don't like it. I can't imagine pouring concrete in this heat..I'd find another profession

primary reason i left texas, - couldn't take the heat. spent 22 years there and never did adapt. oklahoma has its hot days, but nothing like the heat on the southern border. i know exactly what you guys are talking about and anybody thats never experienced it can't imagine what a day's work outside in that heat is like..........

What are ya'll going to do when it gets hot?

Have worked down in your neck of the woods in August CB and the heat/humidity combined is a real man killer. Old black man use to look up at the sun when it was so hot and say "Send it on down Lord and I'll send you a man". :!:

It definitely gets worse the older I get but I couldn't make the kind of money I make now starting a new profession . I have been pouring concrete for over 20 years and working for my self for 10 years .

I hear ya on that one. Every year I get less tolerant of the heat. 20 yrs outside here too with 15 yrs on my own. Hard to think about starting over at a desk after that much time and money

Aww, going to the desk aint that hard, spent 15 years in the swamp Surveying, took a desk job for 2 years, work dried up and then went back in the field. That was a bear after getting used to the desk.

Hard to walk away from the money I get being self employed when I don't have any other education except OTJ.

im used to the heat as long as theres somewhat of breeze.ive been kidding a friend of mine for 2wks because he finally bought a 2wd drive cab tractor,an he is in his 70s.
