Checked the wheat while I was near- just like the waterholes and grass it needs rain...
And the forecast just sounds like hot and dry.....

Thanks big bull--The sad thing of the day is finding one of my sons bull calves- dead...Been dead awhile as the heifers bag is going down- and its just bones and hide left- so not sure what happened to it...My son had just saw him 2 weeks ago and was commenting about how nice that one looked- and he had a guy that already wanted it as a bull this fall......
Out of a nice looking first calf heifer (Lead On- out of Double Rito 525 daughter)- so since I'm not sure what killed it (lightning, coyotes, overeating, whatever ?) I'll probably keep her and give her a second chance....I've already bred her back to the Rito Legacy 3R9 son I have....

Tom Lasater says that is a BIG NO-NO!!! Need to be ruthless with our culling.

Some common sense and judgement have to come into play even in making culling decisions. You don't shoot the wounded...only the deserters.
