I sent him a PM asking if he thought they were going to a feedlot.

No, from my understanding they were a set of reputation heifers with the steers bringing 1.25. Was the set of whites in Canada a set of steers? If they were they must have quite a reputation.

The guy across the road just topped the sale here with 6wts at $1.67 - just 20 or so of them though.

Haven't been to the barn myself but it seems white is right.

I find that hard to believe.

I get the feeling that must have been a pen of outstanding heifers that some folks couldn't put their hands down on. Pre-BSE, prices up here were at record highs, and good 8 weight steers would bring home a little better than $1100 Cdn. I had some 8's go $1.42.


Sure do miss them days.

We all miss them days..I definitely think that it is possible..considering I sold some 6 wt steers at 1.47 less than a month ago ago.. .Priced has slipped up here since the community pastures started to empty by about 20-30 cents a lb
