Well the first snow of the year is falling. Over 6 inches and still snowing. I would just sit in the house and watch it snow but the puppy got dropped off at the vet yesterday to get spayed. Got to go pick her up. It is over 30 miles each way with a nice little hill in the middle. Oh fun.
A wayward cow showed up here yesterday. With this snow they should start showing up regularly as the snow chases them out of the hills. The great white cowboy in now on the job.

There was still plenty of grass and water so the cows hadn't wanted to come out of the hills. They were playing hide and seek from the cowboys. But the great white cowboy does bring them out of the hills. This morning 20 or 30 pairs came marching down the road. Single file and strung out for a quarter mile or more. Most of these cows were raised here so they know where to go for free food in the winter.

We got our first snow of the season Tuesday night. About 8 inches in about 9 hours. Heavy, wet stuff. I was happy to see, though, that once the windbreaks were bedded with stalks Wednesday, NO one was hanging out at the hay feeders. Now, it's supposed to be in the upper 30's this weekend, so everything is going to be a big wet mess....yippy....
