Snow on the Roof

Has anyone heard of a product that helps to keep the entire roof load of snow sliding off at once? I heard that there is some kind of "tabs" that they put up on the roof to slow the snow down to allow for a more gradual thaw. Anyone have experience with these things??

All I want to know is WHY.
I got some snow in my roof this winter and I had no trouble duering either hour that it was on there??? :???: :???:

I got some snow in my roof this winter and I had no trouble duering either hour that it was on there??? :???: :???:

My barn is 40ft wide with a 12ft lean to on the east side where I have my run in pens and a foot of snow sliding off all at once can cause quite a mess. Should have gotten a picture so you folks in the south could see it.
Anyone ever use these snowjax???? Do they work well? Should have gotten something up last fall and hope to have a solution before next winter. Hope there isn't too much more snow this year although more is on its way today.

Ha Ha Ha alabama that is pretty funny!

CK...no experience with the snowjacks, but have seen them around. Some look like they work, some, not so much. Maybe it has something to do with the angle the sun is hitting it? Anyway, why don't you use one of those long handled roof shovels and yank a bunch down? Than plow or shovel it out of the way. We do this on the house all the time. Just one more chore to add to the list though! :roll:

Our old building at work didn't have them for a couple years and the snow sliding off took out a couple of windshields. After putting on the snowjax we didn't have anymore problems.
