Got over nine inches on the ground that fell in about 15 hours. Just snowed heavy all day and until about midnight. I gues, I was not awake at that point... but it sure is pretty. I'm just happy that snow doesn't stick around long in these parts. Never seen anything like it. Had six to eight inch snows when I was a kid, but I suspect that the snow here today is compressed because it is so wet, so there may have been more that fell. I was measuring on the picnic table.

This sort of thing just doesn't happen around here.

I'm like you, snow is so rare around here it might have been a treat. It rained and drizzled all day here. Temps stayed around 37 so it was to warm. Toward late afternoon it started to rain heavier and the temp did fall to 34 but still to warm to stick if any did fall. Not even really interested in going out to check to see how much it rained but I do have to get out in this mess and feed today.

It's snowing here in Montgomery, Alabama. Just starting to stick, and cold outside. I'm glad that I put out hay and minerals out yesterday.

Only have had five indhes on the place all this year...48 degrees outside right now. Last year we had over 100 inches on the ground and below zero. Now we know where it all went.
Some thing to tell the grandchildren in fears to come.

I was thinking more along the line of Yak's or Musk Ox figured this spring we could shave all that hair off and have a couple hundred pound bovine hid in there.

Most of the snow gone here. Looks like a lot of snow in the south. So much for going south for the winter.
Had one tractor freeze up today, guess I forgot to treat the last diesel fuel. Changed the filter but I think the fuel line is frozen. Don't need it anyway as the cows are still grazing stockpiled fescue.
I think if the sun comes out I will lay out in it like and old dog.

It has snowed this week in every state in the US excpt Hawaii  !!!!!!
There might be show on the top of the tallest mountan there too!

The stockpiled grass I had is under a foot of snow. What the cows get is what I haul out to them. :(
More snow is forecast before we have any melting weather. February is the cruelest month--Ben Franklin.

We have an old dog sled in the shed that hasn't been used in a few years. Interested? Of course, then you need at least four good, well-trained dogs to go with it. We only have two left that have actually pulled a sled, but they're almost 13 and retired. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.
If I can find some animals to pull it I may get back to you on that.

I had not even thought of dogs. I had a neighbor once that had one of those northern dogs. But that dog wouldn't pull anything. It just rode around in the sidecar of his motorcycle.

He fashioned a new windshield for it out of some plexiglass like stuff. Put a lot of work into it.
He invited me for a ride and when I was getting in the side car I hit the windshield with my knee and it broke.
He never invited me for a ride again. Just rode that stupid dog around.
So I had better be careful if I go shopping for those Sgt. Preston type dogs.
