One of my caow calved last Friday.3/18.
I have seen the calf nurse, but not for very
long at a time. The past several days I have
observed it attempting to nurse but have not
seen it latch on. It only seems
half-heartedly interested in nursing. The momma
has a large bag.
The calf is now 9 days old and
follows its mom around the pasture when she
moves. However, it just doesn't seem to me like it
has a lot of energy. It lays around a lot and walks
and never runs. Shouldn't a 9 day old calf be more
energetic? I don't know if I should try and give it some
electrolytes or just leave it alone. Any suggestions are
welcome!
