Sinus Surgery Not Needed

My problem is not my sinuses, it is allergies. Monday I was scoped out by an ENT specialist. My sinuses are clear. He said you could drive a semi through them. My discomfort according to the ENT is due to allergies. He ask me what I do. I told him I spend a lot of time with cattle including grooming, feeding hay, etc. During our discussion, he said the Ohio Valley has one if the highest allergen levels in the world. Suggested being tested and enter a program for immunizing against the ones that are the worst. Has anyone had good results from an immunization program? I am skeptical that it would work.

I get the shots they helped me alot. One thing i was highly algeric to was cows

Good news on not needing surgery :banana:
My mom took shots for allergies back in the 70s, she was allergic to just about everything.
They helped a lot I don't think she has much problems any more.

I had the shots back in the 90s. I can't say they did me much good. My Eustachian tubes are shot! Ears won't drain. Right now I am battling fluid in both ears with one ear drum rupturing over and over again. The ENT can't see me until the 26 th!

Probably the most helpful for me is prescription strength Sudafed and Nasonex nasal spray.

I use to get allergy shots before my back surgery then had so much crap happen after never got back on them. Seriously thinking about calling them up making an appointment and getting back on them they work. I am allergic to grass, pollens, and all kinds of other stuff and the shots helped me out a ton.

My wife wanted our kids to have allergies real bad, but we just couldn't afford em.

I know this isn't helpful, but I didn't start having any problems with allergies until I got into my 40's, and my father was the same way. His finally got so bad that he'd start sneezing driving through ragweed with the windows up.

My wife, on the other hand, had a lot of trouble with allergies when she was younger, but they've gotten better in recent years.

glad no surgery.. If turns out you gotta get rid of your cattle they have a home here :mrgreen: I will send pictures to you every year of them and their calves as I haul them to the barn. :shock: :hide:

I take Zyrtec D 12 hour twice a day and use Flonase Nasel Spray. This is really a bad time of year for allergies.

Well my allergies have gone crazy and I feel like crap. Time to get back on shots.
