Somebody I know might have watered about 3 acres of cocklebur today :oops:

Sprayer full of water? Check!
Valves on? Check!
Lid on sprayer? Check!
Run pump on bypass to mix? Check!
Set GPS to monitor ground speed? Check!

Somewhere in there I probably should have ADDED THE DANGED HERBICIDE TO THE TANK :help:

3 acres in I realized it somehow. Came danged close to spraying the whole tank of water. I'd have been wondering why nothing was wilting in a few days. :dunce:

I once witnessed this. Fill irrigation tank full of liquid nitrogen, pump seems to not be working good. Turn on water, turn on mixing valve. Ooops, valve is already open. Straight rushes to the end of the system and irrigates the lower half of the setup killing everything it "waters".
 
I ussually forgetr to put the lid on the tasnk and end up sloshing a lot out while I'm on my way to the field to spray

That's my standard dumb move. I just moved it up a notch this time.
 
yall made me feel a little better.

friday, trying to get the solar pump going again. Had a power problem last week. ordered a new contactor as the old one was chattering and would not hold for the pump to pump. put the new one in and no improvmement.

monkeyed with that thing on my knees in the hot sun reaching down inot the hole for nearly six hours.

sometimes had power somtimes no power. took apart and checked every connection. did all sorts of bypasses. The on and off power made tracking it a bear.

got too hot and nearly passed out.

finally found a plug in connection that while nothing appeared to be wrong and both sides of the plug had conductivity, the plug was the inconsistent power problem. hard wired it and system is pumping again.

then went to hang a gate. naturally, somehow I marked and drilled one of the hinge pin holes at least two inches out of place. there it is now..... giving me the vacant one eyed stare of the testimony of stupidity.
 
At least you didn't hang the gate upside down! I did that once, its still upside down!

Hey, at least you aren't making the SAME mistake. I give myself a pass if a mistake is a new one and not one I made in the past. This gets more difficult as I age, since I've made a lot of mistakes. I've lost the spray tank lid more than once and had to walk back my tracks to find it.
I've torn the end nozzle off the boom just as I arrive in the field--and a mile from the place where I might have a spare end nozzle.
 
Great title! I was thinking something similar. I'm not even going to start to document some of the crap I've done on this old farm. :oops:
