I am about to purchase a pretty nice in my opinion proven Simmental 3 year old cow. What can I expect if I AI her to a heavy Hereford influence? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by heavy Hereford influence? A cross breed bull? Or do you mean a Hereford bull?

A real Hereford bull. Something on the heavy carcass side. A big AI bull.

All depends on what you plan to do with the calf. If you are wanting to hold back a heifer you might want to rethink the "big" and look for one with more maternal traits.

Full Fleck or the new and improved version?

hard to say.. outside of color but one of the worst train wrecks ive seen was a AI'D older proven simmental cow .... the calf weighed 100+++++++ pounds and should have been C sectioned.. cause she hit the ground like a sack of crete mix, never moved on her own again.. the calf looked 2 months old

Yea I had a simmy cow bred with a char. bull i had and I had the same thing happen. Calf was to big for it's own good and it almost killed the cow. So if this cow is a big ol'cow you better go with a smaller frame and lower birth weight bull.

Several years ago, a local beef producer was taking a hit on the price of his Simmental calves. He's the type of fellow who puts a lot of thought in his decisions when he's ready to change directions. He began breeding his Simmentals to red angus bulls. He has kept some of his heifers. He has some awesome cows. He must be pleased since he's been doing this now for several yrs. The local extension agent worked with him on this project.
