visiting my friend in Arky. looking over his herd and observed one cow urinate a bubbly, frothy, clear liquid with blood in it.
this was yesterday.
this morning, I drank my morning coffee with the herd and this same cow was standing apart from the herd. In an hour and a half, she never ate, just stood there with a hunched back.
This cow calved about 2-3 months ago, never bagged up much, but the calf is doing well. calf appears healthy and growing fine.
Any suggestions before we spend money on a vet or take her to the sale barn?
Note: She is a Longhorn if that makes any difference.

I'd say infection from a retained placenta or a tear in the uterus, both these will make a cow hunch over especially when urinating.
The infection can be treated by placing pills or infusing medicine into her uterus, the tear depending wear it is, may be stitched by a Vet, best bet is to have a Vet see her. We just had a cow that had a tear, it was in a bad place, she got culled.

Might also be a urinary tract infection...had a young heifer that I had to treat 7-10 days with penicillin (vet saw her and prescribed treatment). Poor girl, putting up with my inept shot-giving, but she's fine, thankfully.
