showing steers for fair

hi...this will be my first year showing a steer for fair . i want to find a steer that will do good in shows and be a good seller.i live in fresno ca.what do you think would be best for me

Seriously, need some more information.How old are you, what kind of facilities do you have, etc. As for breed to select,try Angus, Shorthorn (or the cross of the two,the wonderful Murray Grey), hereford,or just about any other breed. ;-)
 
For picking breeds, the best thing to do would check around on the internet and research all the different breeds. Narrow them down to a few that you like and pick the one you like most.
 
When selecting a breed, you need to know what will work for you in your area.I would use an Angus/Shorthorn/Salers steer. Hey. It works for me.
