should I call him next time his cows are out?

Called a guy a while back to tell him his cows were out. Left a message and I haven't heard anything back. There was a bad accident previously to me calling because of a cow being loose. Was told it was probably his but don't know what happened with that. I have to call someone when a cow is out since I don't want someone to get killed. I have called him a few times(and I am very nice) before so I don't know if he is thinking I am a pest. ??Should I call him next time or just call the law?

I would be on the phone right away thanking someone if they told me my cows were out.

If he does not fix his fences call the law. It is not worth someones life. If this has happened before with his cattle I beleive I would call the law this time. If you wait next time might be to late.

have a neighbor, that doesnt do jack to his fences.
My babysitter just about took a steer out last week.
The following day, when I was comin home big wreck with and 7 or 8 weight laying in the ditch. black cattle are hard to see at night.


Could have been much worse, nobody but the steer was hurt.
Dead ones dont get our as much.

You are better off calling the sheriffs dept. He seems he doesn't appreciate the help anyway. And besides atleast it would be on record about his cows in case something ever did happen

My neighbors horses (6) use to get out on a regular basis and come up into our yard to graze and crap. I was nice for the first two calls and even put them back myself a few times. I finally ended up calling him again but wasn't so nice this time. He and he son had the fences fixed the next day.... we are still very freindly neighbors, talk all the time. Sometime you have to bark to get their attention.

Try to be nice, we had a cow that would not stay on ourside of the fence, we checked and double checked the fence and nothing was wrong, she just kept jumping the fence, I guess thier bull was better looking than our bull

This guy is Very rich. He has farm hands. There is a very small amount of fence that needs to be redone but he just either does nothing or rigs it. Locks on gates I can't get in.

around here if the same cattle keep getting out on the road the sheriff office calls out some folks to catch them. they then take the cattle to a sale barn in the county the cattle was caught. they then have 14 days to claim the cattle and pay the catching fee along with the sale barn feed bill. if no one claims the cattle they are sold in the sheriffs office name and the guys that catch them get their fee and the sale barn gets their feed bill and the rest goes into a fund at the sheriff office. if the cattle are out on a busy highway and no owner can be found they are caught and impounded just as soon as the cowboys can get there. some of the day hands work for the sheriff office and on call 24 hours day. if called at 2 AM they go out and catch the cattle. that also goes for other livestock too horses etc. there is one Deputy that is all he does is keep up with lost livestock chaseing down the brand ear tags etc.

He sounds like a jerk!! If he doesn't care, maybe the law can wake his dead butt up.
