We have a couple of three year old cows that are still wooly. They all received injectable Dectomax and the rest have slicked up just fine. Any ideas as to what needs to be done?

Give them time. If they are on the normal fescue pasture they may never really slick out completely.

Improve your mineral program. What type of minerals are you using? If its a block for them to lick that wont be enough. Get you some good loose minerals to put in em. Ask the county agent in your area what is a good mineral for your area.

We are using Purina All Season 10 medicated with IGR. Could be the cattle that are wooly just aren't eating enough, if any.

if you have much fescue they may not slick till it quits growing. some cows are sensitive to the fungus. i have one that is sick from it alot of rain and cool weather made it grow very fast and it poisoned her. the fungus makes them hot and they stand in the pond.

Every year iy's the usual suspects. Some cows slick out early, others take a little longer, some never really slick out. The ones that don;t slick out I think are those that are a little less tolerent of the fescue.
Frequently heifers don;t really slick out till they turn 2 and calve.
