From looks not knowing her demeaner she and her calf looked good. As small as the calf was would have made a nice pair selling. Good riddance getting rid of her and you will notice the next time you deal with your cattle she is gone. One crazy in the bunch make others follow.

That was a darn good looking cow and calf, too bad she was crazy and hurt ya. At least you got some pretty good cash. I would have figured the crazy would have came from some Angus blood.

Possible , like I said her momma was a little fast but never showed any aggression . We/I put up with her and this cow because we were just getting started and needed the numbers . Plus both raised really good calves .

I end up with a few like that cow, They act fine in the ring but get waspy at home. I guess that is what we have cowboys for.

I won’t get my check in the mail till Friday or Saturday . Friend who hauls for me sent me a pic of the check but he didn’t get which calf was which . 8 calves averaged around $2200 . Cheapest was 19 highest 2400

They came and picked them up . Hour drive one way . Plus a small fee for hay . They were hauled a day early .

Used to be that they charged a flat percentage... But it seems, just like most people today, they are on the extra "fee" train to squeeze as much as they can get. Maybe not all, but it sure seems to be going around. I think the banks started it...

When im able to get back to the stockyard i will take a picture of the charges.
Here most calves will cost in the low $20's to sell and that includes the insurance and beef promotion. But yes, 75 miles away the cost is lots higher.

Depends on who and how the barn is owned. Some groups want a lot more protection of there assets than others. Insurance for the barn would be a huge expense in a lot of areas. Sometimes the barns that have been around a while can slide under the radar with a good record.

I don't know what it is... but every single cow I've had with those uniform white blazes down their face have been crazy. The brockle face animals are fine, but that pretty white blaze is always a trouble maker. Good riddance!

Came across this old pic. Not just a pretty white blaze, but with a heart. And she was a bi**h!!!! This was the last calf she had here and she was only 4. Buh-bye!!
