Settings for Calf Warmer

We just had to use the calf warmer we got 2 years ago.
It was the coldest night so far this year.
It worked great. Now I would like to know what the settings and how long do you leave the calf in the warmer?
We have a poly dome with 3 heat setting and 2 fan speeds.

I only have a homemade warming box, but my theory is that if you put your finger in their mouth and it's cool, pour the heat to them. Keep it hot until the mouth is warm.
