Separation Anxiety

So my dog (beagle/chihuahua cross with maybe a little terrier) has always had separation anxiety, but its never been super bad up until my husband deployed. Now its consistent whining and pawing at the door when i go to the bathroom, and similar things. He is completely afraid of the tiniest bit of water and last night when i was taking a shower he tried to hop in with me. Im starting to get very annoyed with this because he's constantly giving me headaches. I try to leave the house and go somewhere and put him in his crate for a short period of time and he howls and carries on like someone is trying to kill him.

I honestly have no idea what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well it's certainly got you trained....a companion beagle/chihuahua.......something should help.
