So I said to my self."Self after today you will never replace the tube in a 28.8x38 tractor tire ever again"!!!!
I will for sure hire it done the next time.
I am so tired I had to leave the door unlocked when I got home so my a$$ could come dragging itself home later.

Never did a 28.8x38, but do 20.8x38 and if you dont have the right tools and equipment it sure can be tough by yourself. Luckly most of my tire problems come in the summer when it can be done easier.

I hear that Cal, I think my big tractor tire changin days are over too. The last time I changed one I said "screw that", I'll go do something productive while the tire people change it. They gotta eat too I reckon. We got calcium in all ours, some miserable stuff. I even stopped doing the smaller ones, seemed like you never have what you need to fix it, wrong size patch, glue dried up, and so on. I just wait till I have a collection and drop em off and they can fix when they have time.

I quit putting tubes in. It seems like those tubes are going bad quite often and I run fluid in em. Have a relative that's a rep for Michelin and he said everybody is switching to tubeless, even when fluid is used. In fact, the rims rust less in a tubeless.

Cal I quit that bear fight years ago when I figured I needed a smaller bear or a bigger switch.
I just call the local tire shop and tell them what pasture the tractor is in.
Last year I heard the rear tire go and then as the tire rolled dang deer antler shed sticking out of the tire.

CB had the same thing happen last spring with a front tire.1
Found the left half of a pretty nice 8 pointer stuck in the tire. :mad:

We quit tubes years ago, only use them when we have to to keep an old tire going, also plug lots of tires to save time an can't do that with a tube.

We quit with tubes too, they wouldn't work in radial tires no time. Another thing we started doing was putting more air in radial tires, I'll put air in until they stand up, since we started doing that we have a lot less sidewall issues.
