So.....anybody up to spending $41 for a bag for haygrazer or $84 for a bag for millet........Kline $22 a pound, Bermuda $11 a pound....? And then hope, wish and pray it rains...........

I've ordered 20 lbs of B Dahl at $18.00 per lb from a place in Tulsa. The local guy wanted $22.20. Yep, I'll be praying for rain, too.

Fescue KY31 is $50 per 50 lb sack when bought in quantity here. I paid $31/50 lb sacks in the Fall. Nice inventory gain for someone.

Shouldn't have been much more than that here. Never rained enough last year to even think about buying seed, but that
is what I expected to pay.............Problem is I already put the fertilizer out last month. Almost have to plant something to utilize the fertilizer.

Looks like I'll do 10 acres in either Kliengrass or maybe the B Dahl....if I can get the seed....Even with $2 calves this kind of expense is outrageous to do over and over every year.....Might just have to see what Mother Nature blows in and plants.

Coastal is pretty easy to get started . I sprigged 10 acres 2 years ago . Only got 2 inches of rain the first 2 months . After that it took off . I cut 30 rolls that fall off the field . Are you doing it your self or having some one else with a machine . ?

I put out 4 acres of Giant Bermuda in an area where the soil is nice and loamy, and 7 acres of WW B-Dahl at the upper end where there is some tight clay soil. Wind was blowing, so I'm hoping some of it actually hit the ground. Finished putting out the $350 worth of seed yesterday, and it rained .6" today. Even a blind hog...etc.

Sure has been a cold rain....Really didn't have enough time to get mine in before the weather turned. Thinking it's just a bit early by the calendar, however I'm ready to go when it clears up...unless the oats needs cutting by then.
