Screech owl red phase

Ponds are so low I can walk to all my wood duck boxes to clean them out , add new wood shavings and make any repairs. Opened a box that always produces a batch of babies to find this guy . He would not leave ! Cleaned the box out and added fresh wood shavings with him sleeping in the corner.

We have screech owls here.. they can make quiet a racket on summer nights, they seem to like a tree right outside my window

Second one I've found in my boxes. Usually gone by nesting time for the ducks . Coons are my biggest problem . I've tried everything to keep them out . Somehow climb over my guards and climb round metal pipes ??
