I just bought an OBD 1 and an OBD2 engine scanner.
I am very impressed in how it shows the codes stored in the on board computer and gives the info on the code.
Sure saves dollars when you don't have to take it to the shop.

I bought the Equus 3160 Innova.Looked at several and decided on this one.

I've got a small cheaper ( around $100), but it only does obd2. Like you say its well worth it if you don't do anything but erase the code when the wife don't get the gas cap on right.
