Hey cp - you mentioned bruiser as an unsung hero in a previous thread - is that mostly from seeing his calves I assume or his daughters? You don't see many of his sons selling anywhere - now that he's rang the bell in ABS' sire alliance that gives some cred to what you're saying anyway.

Have you ever actually seen him? That picture is obviously of him as a calf - always get nervous when a calf picture of the bull continues to be used..... maybe it doesn't matter what it looks like if his progeny work.

I haven't seen him in person. I have seen some calves that I like and have a few running around on my place now out of commercial bred heifers that I purchased that are a definite improvement over their dams. The real attraction for me is his feed efficiency data and performance without a lot of holes in a fairly moderate package.

We have the same thing in the Gelbvieh breed. The most used bull of the last few years is Lazy TV Sam. rumor has it he developed into one of the ugliest bulls in the breed, so all we ever see is his yearling picture....for what it's worth I have raised several dtrs and sons and they are all good looking cattle.
