Santa Gertrudis Video

I saw this last night. Always looking to learn more about the different breeds and their strengths/weaknesses.

Saw the quit blurb on the Jr aspec of the assocation. I think its great when as assocation offers a good Jr program :D
 
Thoose were some of the best breeders in the breed. hope i shows some people that they are the best cattle.

What they are saying is that the SG breed was the first breed created in America. All other breeds exisiting in the U.S. are the results of early imports and those imports include brahma, hereford, longhorn etc.

To be accurate, Brahma is a created in the US breed too.

To few people realize that.

Gerts hit their peek in the 60's, in my opinion. They can thrive in the environment I live in whereas some of the popular breeds today cannot cut it in this climate. If I were not running brangus I probably would run more gerts.
