The value is all in the hide, horns, and hooves. Think cheap hotdogs and canned soup. Most anything can pass as chicken once it's pureed, compressed, and some MSG added

Never heard of that brand. I like 100% beef hotdogs too. I like Nathan's, and I think that might be the only brand we can buy locally

With calf prices like that, why are pairs so low???? $960 to $1100 - the durn calf would soon be worth close to that.
They weren't that good .
Grass is deep here right now I haven't placed a bid in two week's.
The quality on the cow's going through the barn is low.

Are those thin low quality cows out of south Texas? I was at Crockett about a month ago and there was a sell out from down south. Good cows just really thin (maybe too thin to rebreed this summer).

Yep and to thin, waited to long to pull the trigger.
I don't buy anything from west of I-45 they will take six months to line out on this grass here.

- Local sales barn owner is buying pairs so you know they are low.
- We were in a drought but then got too much rain this spring. Better washy grass than brown!
- I think a lot of folks are feeling down since calf prices are lower than last year and grain is going back up due to prevented plant. It could be more profitable to buy pairs now rather than a year ago - - but they may not look at it that way.
