Sale Barn lesson learned

Help Support CattleToday:

It happens around here all the time. You find a cheap "boner" cow at the stockyard. People will buy them for 20 - 25 cents per pound, take them home and feed them a couple of months and make hamburger.

I followed up with a call to the sale barn thinking it was a mistake, but they claim there was one heifer that sold for .23cents. She was healthy, someone just got a good deal and I was on the wrong end.

Anyway you look at it somebody stole your calf....plain and simple. I've seen them limping so bad they could hardly walk and still bring more than that. Makes me wonder if she even went thru the ring. I'd follow up on the buyer and see what is going on.
