Limed last fall and fertilized this spring a pasture to scale based on sample. Now I am getting a lot of sage grass popping up. I guess I should soil test and lime again?
 
We have more than normal this year also and I think it is from all the extra rain we have had. If you limed and fertilized to test results I think it will be better next year.
 
I had a lot of sage in my bahia on a new place last summer. I put a ton of lime to the acre, and it took care of the sage.
The soil test this summer showed a ph. of 6. The MSU lab said that this is correct for bahia.
 
My dad has always said fertlizer doesn't kill it. It makes it a tender treat that cows will overgraze out of existance. Have no facts to back that. But heard it a lot. It can't handle low grazing.
