Used to play in my younger days, rugby is like religion in SA

High School football is big in Texas. They tried to get soccer going a few years back with not much interest. Kinda like the metric systrm, No one has an interest in it here in the USA.
Some of the bigger colleges have a Rugby team but none that i know of here in South Texas.

Back in college I took soccer for a PE class in a spring quarter. There were several members of the college football team in the class. These guys were the starting linebackers and they were Marines who had recently returned from Nam. One day someone came up with the bright idea that we should play rugby. Lets just say that several classmates went to the hospital. Playing rugby with a combat veteran Marine who is a football linebacker isn't a real good idea.
