Seems every place I go when I pay, they ask do I want to roundup? I have never heard one say yet do I want to round down. Went to pay at the self-checkout and wanted on paying to know at least three organizations did I want to add to my total to support and also did I want to roundup at the end. What next are they going to come up with?

The McDonald's in our county has a sign saying correct amount or card only. But its possible that the employees can't count change.
I try to avoid that place, anymore. The window greeters have a nose ring that looks like a hog ring, purple hair and tats all over their neck/etc. and a lot of the employees look physically about the same, not saying all. Where I eat the appearance of the employees matters to me. Then again that maybe all they can hire and they may not can count change. The last time I ate there one of the guys had tats all over his head neck just about top to bottom and a rough looking character. I looked for some MS-13 tats but through the window could not make out any. I didn't eat much of what I got.

Some words can mean different things especially different cultures. I have notice that here some.

A lot of it is the banks. My bank now does not deal in penny's, they round up or down to the nearest nickle. When i asked they said they were being charged more by there courier service to handle them.

They are also not making pennies.. it costs like 4 cents to make a penny or something... costs 8 cents to make a nickel... that will be the next thing to stop making...

I round up at goodwill.... and I will sometimes roundup at McD... but do not go there very often. Other than that....NOPE.....

I only seen it online. I agree i wouldn't eat there.

We travel through Ely Nevada on Highway 50 a few times a year. And Micky Dee's is a convenient place to stop for something to eat, so we stop. But I don't think we will anymore. The last straw was last time. We ordered 2 breakfast burrito meals and the total was almost $25. We walked out and went to the grocery store two doors away and the deli had 10 pieces of chicken for $8.99, so we ate four pieces and threw the rest away and walked away more satisfied than with the fast food meals.

And I've seen the round up thing, but not often. We use a credit card and what we mostly see is an upcharge for using the credit instead of cash or a debit card. That's a new thing lately...

You're not wrong. But I doubt working at McDonald's is anyone's life aspiration. I'd say the majority of employees at our local McDonald's fit your description. But telling them "Hi!", maybe a little small talk, telling them "Thank you!" and a smile is a game-changer. One of them even bought my coffee a couple weeks ago, I'm assuming because she appreciates my efforts - and that I always round up.

I love tipping. I don't do fast food enough to make it work well, but at the few restaurants I frequent they treat me well.

Heard on the radio today that they made the last penny... It costs just under 4 cents to make a penny. I knew it was right about now... thought maybe they had stopped last month...

It cost more than a penny to make but how long do the last? I checked some pennies in my pocket. Some were over 40 years old. How many times have they been used?

What it all boils down to we are being forced into some kind of electronic currency, Cryptocurrency or etc. in the near future. I wish they would leave things alone. I am ditching my Win 10 and my two computers want work Win 11. I have had to buy a new computer and most of my previous software want work on Win 11. I put free Linux on a couple and the more I use it the better I like it. Windows 10 without support will be a major threat to use.
