I thought that I would go ahead and start a thread on "Rodeo Life". Everyone that has some pics of themselves and family/friends please share here. :D

My sister and brother in-law rodeo'd all my life growing up. (Obviously they were 14 yrs. my senior.)
A little background-
They married at 18 and 19 yrs. old. My BIL was drafted during the Vietnam War and was placed on the front lines. When he returned home, they continued to Rodeo for about 30 plus years after that. This was a "career" for them. So growing up, It was not unusual for me to travel to 2-3 rodeos in a weekend in the back of their camper! For a kid my age, it was a blast!
Sister ran barrels and BIL rode bulls.
What was pretty unusual, is that Larry rode bulls up into his 50's. He won the World in the Senior Pro Rodeo for 3 years in a row. (Senior Pro is for over 40.)

Some of you may remember this bull. He was pretty famous.

So when Larry decided to quit riding bulls, he was asked to judge. He thought "what the heck, at least it's safer."
This one below left him pretty busted up. He judges on a horse now!

I have a fairly old picture of a fellow we bought our first bull from, Sam Pozzobon.. now there was a ranching family!... He did mainly roping.. lots of stories around him, but too many 4 letter words for me to retell them!.. he was about 6'2 and skinny as a nail.. .certainly a colorful character! I rode a steer (a wild one, not one of mine) this spring at the branding party I go to yearly... made it about 30 feet out of the gate... they tied a bell under his belly to make sure he'd buck!

Thanks for sharing Ms Hollywood, that's a great picture of Red Rock
I knew that YOU would know that bull. ;-)
You gonna share some of your pics Cowboy? :D

I never had many pictures, the shutter speed wasn't fast enough to capture me before I hit the dirt, but the few I have are lost somewhere. I looked for them awhile back and thought I knew where I packed them when I moved, but they aint anywhere I've looked.
My sister used video the rodeo's on VHS but she has lost those tapes too, but my highlight reel was pretty short

I have lost some old pictures also. It kind of breaks your heart doesn't it? They sure mean a lot when you realize that you won't ever do that stuff again, and want to look back and remember those days. (For me anyway.) :(

I don't think they are gone, just misplaced. They'll turn up
But I have a bum knee and an elbow that comes out of joint to remind me of how much fun it was

That second pic is absolutely priceless. Great shot. The calm cat in the shades is calm as a cucumber, at least for the pic and for that split second .....

Larry's thigh was so tore up from that bull hooking him off the fence. Black and blue from his bu# to his calf. Several busted ribs also. He was always so calm about it all too. Never saw him shook up over anything in all those years. If he had "fear" you sure didn't see it. He does still judge, on a horse.

It looks like he didn't move a muscle out of the way does it?

Rodeo life makes my pockets empty when you are married to a can chaser ha

I would honestly like to know what I have spent on it in my life------horses, feed, hay, fuel, vet bills, shoes, entry fees, trailers, tires, tack, barns, clinics, trucks

Like popcorn Sutton said," If I could do it all over again, d#^¥ if I wouldn't do it bigger and better."

Let's see your pics Bigfoot! :D

Lost all my pics. Nothing is as sweet as a memory though. I might can sweet talk my wife in to loading some of the kids.

It was a lot easier then as well weighing in at a buck sixty.
Bulls and Saddle Bronc was never a problem for me it didn't take but a few times at
bareback after I hit the ground and had a crow nest in my back pocket that wasn't my event.
I was to little for bull dogging tried it a couple of times this only reinforced the fact that
jumping off a running horse was not a intelligent thing to do. As far calf roping never tried it
as I knew it was a total waste of money as I was slow in the pasture.
I have a few pictures left since the fire.

I would but I will have to get a grandkid to get them digital for me as I have no clue how to.
Ok. Look forward to seeing them!

I will see if I can get one to educate me over the phone.
Have the picture of the ride of the bull that broke my ankle.
I actually know where that one is.
Been riding a while doing so so and got on a good run of making the buzzer 18 times
straight. That bull reminded me I wasn't near as good as I thought I was getting to be.
Started out YRCA riding rode in the county fair rodeos around. I was good enough to to keep me
chasing after them but never really good enough to play with the big boys.
The bulls then are nothing like the bulls today .

Should have stuck with baseball as I was good enough there just wasn't near as thrilling.
I also liked the girls more that were at the rodeo events and trail ride dances.
That is how I got a Trail Boss for 40+ years.
