Thats how it once was here. Several people with power decided that it should be contracted. Guess who then retired and began contracting. They closed offices and mechanic shops. Now sime are back open and finally hiring a few full time employees.Our county does all the mowing, guardrail fixing, road lifting, gravel hauling, road grading, etc in the summer. The only thing they don't do is paving, but they do all the prep work.
Each contract job has to have full time inspectors to watch them. Its all a joke here. Anything we see wrong we have to call an office 4 hours away to get an answer.
