Ringworm

Bought 2 heifers and one had ringworm then it spread to the other one. Now it has spread. How do I get it cleared up? Been using a topical.

Athletes foot meds...the spray on will spook them until they get used to it. DMc

Coppertox. Use an old toothbrush and rub it in. You'll be green too, but it seems to work. Another thing that I have heard is an injection of vitamin A, and sunlight.

We just recently had our first case of ringworm on a new heifer that we bought, we used the spray athletes foot medicine, it worked since ringworm is a fungus.

My vet always reccomends taking a wire brush, scratching it until it bleeds a little and applying Strong Iodine to the ringworm with a paper towel. Be careful though, the iodine tends to stain whatever it touches. Good Luck.
