My cows and calves came down with what I am told is ringworm. I was told there is nothing you can really do about it.
The timing couldn't be any worse as the calves will be going to the sale barn in about a month. Thank you for any input, Swanny

Fungicides will work.When I was growing up,we used lard and kerosene.I wouldn't tell anyone to do it,though!

Ringworm from cattle can spread directly to humans. If your treating or working around livestock with ringworm make sure wear gloves, use a disinfectant hand wash and wash your clothes promptly, with bleach if possible. Make sure you scrape the crust away before applying any treatment if possible for best results.

Tincture of Iodine spray will kill it and dry it up.

Bad case of it running thru my heifer barn at the moment. I just leave it alone for the most part. Once they get over it, they seem to be done of it for good.

The old saying is that if you treat ringworm it will be better in 14 days. Left untreated, it takes 2 weeks :P

Wish I had known this saying the first time I treated it. :)

I got my share of ringworm as a kid. Parents always treated it with juice from walnut hulls.
