Rice or Rice Stubble Hay

Has anybody ever fed rice hay or rice stubble hay?
Will cows eat the stuff?
What is the nutritional value of it ?
What supplement if any should be given?

yea they will eat it, if their is nothing else to choose from....bout 4% CP

Mostly what has been bought around here. There is very little else available unless you go out of state.

It is the sorriest hay you can buy, but does act as a filler, you will have to supplement protien.

as said they will eat it an itll fill their bellies.an as said youll need to feed your cows some grain.we fed some 30yrs ago an the cows ate it just fine.i seen some for $80 a bale an it looked pretty good in the bale.

Caustic said it well. Over here, rice stubble is coming in but the ranchers are also providing liquid feed with it. Hay is still coming in but now from out of state and its supply is about gone.
