Any way you can get a better pic of her? Not a good angle to properly judge her conformation.

You're right rafter, I was one of I hope a few that missed the word "if" in her original post. The heifer looks bad in the pic posted, but a better pic could change opinions....... Again miss the word if in the sentence if we keeping her.

The proof is in the pudding. Sometimes the homeliest cows that aren't much to look at have the best calves, and do so year after year.
Breed her and calve her out. If she does not bring in a good heavy above average calf at weaning, send her down the road :idea: :2cents:

Its actually, If we were going to keep her...Meaning, not keeping but if we were she'd be named Retread. Originally posted for the marking she has...didnt ask for critiquing. But, for my sake, i'll post another picture of her standing with her head up. She's not a bad looking heifer, she has the simbra influence from the older cows...Alan":2pzbxdlm said:

I realize she ain't keeping her for a replacement, but to those that think she'll work...that long loose navel flap is good Indicator that she'll be a hard doer...seen to many over the years..

I am not saying she is good or bad , I don't think the picture does her real good, but would like to know why some things said are said. Often when there is cattle pictures posted on here with Brahman in them it seems like if you are from certain places they are no good but the father south you go the better they like them. I have several that look like her that are calf raising cows ???
As for the "tire looking mark" that's my kind of cattle I'll take them ol off colored cows all day long. I can set at the sale and buy them off colored cattle lots cheaper than them pretty cattle then breed them to a good Angus or Char. bull then sell the calves and most of the time when they get sold at a cattle auction no one knows the cow was off colored.

Yeah that is a new one for me too. That would mean almost all Brangus and Beef masters are "hard doers." Which is not true.
Bryant I would have to agree with you on not understanding where some of these comments come from. For heavens sake, she just posted a picture of an unusual marked calf and it turns into a "quality" debate.

"Hard doer" would be the opposite of an easy flesher.
I guess i'm not so good that i can tell from a picture what a 2 month old calf will be in the future .. BRYANT, i'd keep every weirdly colored calf. I hate that we've gone all black. My fun calves are dwindling. I get a spot here and there, but nothing fun like in the past. If i can dig it up, we had a steer years ago with the strangest coloring. If he had been female, we'd have her today.
