Hello All,

Just thought I would throw some pics up of a 8 year old herd bull I am retiring this year. I used him on my commercial cows to upgrade them and I have 9 daughters in production from him. He made a lot of grass fed beef for me as well. Unless I find an interested party he will become ground for my meat business. I have much stronger bulls in the battery and have used him about as much as I can. I hate to see him go because he has been great to own and use. Very docile and has a unique personality.







 
That sure is a good looking animal. I know what you mean about finishing him up. I have one I'm going to let go in approx. 30 days. One of the easiest Bulls I've ever used.

That's a serious bull. With all the time you've spent working together, bummer that you can't keep him forever.

You would think he would be a herd improver for someone for a year or two.

I was looking for some back-scratchable Herefords. Is he one?

I love that front on picture. You can see the personality in the way he holds himself. The Aulick Brothers had a large remote tract of land that adjoined our farm. Me and my brothers would adventure onto their land. They had big herds of White Face. Their bulls were very much like yours. Horned and the curly hair. Your bull is a magnificent animal.
 
How is he bred? Your other bulls must be very strong, I'd like to see them. Depending on the size of your herd I'd be very tempted to find some more use for him, longevity is very much underrated nowadays and you know he is as sound as a pound otherwise he wouldn't have looked like this at 8.

Recently visited a friend that probably has the best herd of herefords I've ever seen and he has an 8 year old herdsire that is the fattest, soundest bull on the farm out of 30+ mature bulls.
 
Dadnabbit.....wish you were closer my friend. That is a fine bull. And I've been thinking about a horned Hereford for my fall herd.
 
Thanks everyone for the kind comments. He has always exhibited those great masculine traits that Drayson spoke of. The bulls name is Imperial Lamplighter 30. I cannot take credit for him as that lies in his blood, which is straight Anxiety 4th. His line has not had outside blood since 1881.

I have some straight Anxiety females here and like I said 2 of my other bulls are much stronger than he is. So they will take over from here.

Some may not believe me , he was a tailender of his class.
 
He is a good bull. Seems sort of sad and a waste that he can't go somewhere to help improve another person's herd.
I wish that you were closer to me.
