No it's not a gas post. Went to an auction last Saturday hoping to get some nice trees, 6-8 foot spruce. Phoned 3 nurseries ahead of time and they sell for up to $150. There were 100 trees this size. The first bunch went at $270, after that the price dropped as low as $190 with most selling up near the top end. Then they sold some smaller ones in pots. At one point some sold at$30 per buyers choice. The one's that were left were available at the same price but oh no. Guys start the bidding again and they wind up paying $32.50 each. Smart ones, help the dumb ones.

How many truck loads do you want at that price? There are acres on acres of Christmas trees around here that wholesale for $5-15 a tree. For that kind of money we could dig them up rather than cut them off.

I'm sure the guy that brought them there is thinking he's found the perfect marketing tool in the auction. I don't know why people don't do a little homework.

Given a couple or three years, a two foot tree will out grow a six foot tree. Unless you are a terminal patient buy the smaller and save a bundle
