This is a Simmental sired calf from a Hereford cross cow that maybe has some longhorn in her. Cow is in background red mottled faced brindle. Calf was born October 5
This cow sometimes has brindle calves, this one has sone black on its nose and the ring around its eye is black along with a portion of its tail.DA9348A3-62E9-4A65-B706-B4ABAED0F7C5.jpegD903891D-DB9D-4117-89FC-D28290D2CB99.jpeg

Decent looking calf. I'd put him in my back yard to feed out.

Nice calf. Looks to have some white markings of traditional simmental. Still usually wouldn't expect that much chrome but with everything in the woodpile, surprise! Lol

Red with black highlights maybe. Coming from the brindle genetics? Looks like the tail will be black. And that spot around the eye. Right front leg looks to be red. Sometimes the black highlights are just on extremities - muzzle, tail, tips of the ears and such.

I think it will definitely change colors, I'm just not sure to what. He may end up like what we call a chocolate baldie. There will be areas of black with areas of a brownish/red. It pretty common with Sims also.

Our F1s completely change colors. You basically just see white and a red-ish color when they are born. Over time they go light or dark and get their stripes.
