By now some of Romeo's first daughters should be calving. Has anyone heard any reports on them? I mostly interested in how easily they are calving and also how do their teats and udders look.

Sorry, UG--dunno??? Ours aren't bred yet. We only have a few, but seems to me that early on...they are ugly ducklings. We only had one that was really a pretty calf and her momma would be 9 on a 1-10 scale for looks. The other mommas were fine, too, but...they are looking good now and feminine, but for a while there...I was REALLY wondering!
 
Just one Romeo yearling--will try to get a current picture of her. All are growing very well. 2 are out of 1st time calvers--came easy and very alert straight off.

What was giving the heifers their ugly look? Lots of leather up front? Ugly headed? How do Romeo's sons look?

We're very focused on performance but also recognize that an ugly bull is hard to sell, no matter how well he performed on test.
 
Well, let me say this...the dams of the ugly ducklings tend to favor performance over femininity themselves, not masculine, but....The heifer that had the really pretty baby is herself, more on the feminine maternal end of the spectrum. Coincidence? Probably not. We don't have any Romeo sons, but the ones I have seen were not bad.
