Ranch truck design

I just got an 89' F-250, 4x4, 351W,5speed with a regular style flatbed. I plan on this truck pretty much staying on the property and be the go to vehicle for fence work etc. I want keep my DD out of the brush as much as possible. All that said this is going to be a DIY gig. Off top of head I need places to carry had tools such shovels, post hole diggers and that good stuff. I need to make them mount side to side, not top to bottom.(brush trees scraping over top of cab) I will be putting underbody box for the hand tools. I would like to incorporate a winch operated bale spear that is removeable. Maybe mount the generator and air compressor. This is not a DD, it might go to town once in while to get fuel, then again I may take it off insurance and do the 5 gallon gas can relay. Any tips or tricks that you have done to your truck to make it more work friendly, please share?

Keep it able to drive to town so it gets used pleanty. Plus if you get feed or what ever you don't have to move it. Liability insurance should be dirt cheap.

That's my only suggestion. Every time I see some make a vehicle where it can't leave the ranch it goes down hill.

I don't like the underbed toolboxs Ive never had one( and I've had a bunch) that didn't eventually get hung on a stump or a rock and get damaged. Fine for a highway rig. But for a rough use in the pasture I don't like em.

Wiring. If your going keep your lights working make sure everything under the bed is in a conduit.
