raking vetch

My son and I were debating which rake to use on some thick vetch hay. He says the vetch will clog up at the end of the wheel rake and we need to use the bar rake. Comments?

ive always used the wheel rake in thick hay like that.an only had thick hay jam the end rake wheel a time or 2.an id just difgg all the hay out.an start raking again.if it jamms the wheel up 2 or 3 times.you may want to use a bar rake.

If it is heavy vetch, use a bar rake, Wheel rakes do not work good in vetch. I have tried a few times and always go back and get the bar rake. If it not real thick vetch like 10% of hay or less then maybe wheel will work.
